Jazmen Boone in full flow for Maxol WIT Wildcats against Liffey Celtic. Wildcats will be hoping for another big performance from their American star next Saturday night against Dublin side Meteors.

The Mercy Sports Hall, Ozanam St is the place to be on Saturday evening next, November 7th when Maxol WIT Wildcats hope to continue their impressive start to the season when they take on Dublin Meteors in what promises to be an epic clash.
Both teams have produced excellent performances to date and would be hopeful of being in the shake up come the business end of the season.
Although the homegrown talent on both Wildcats and Meteors is very young they have produced the goods so far and may cancel each other. This would leave it to “the Americans” to decide the outcome.
Sport Changes Life Programme
Wildcats are more than pleased with their two American players this season. Both ladies are students at WIT as part of the Sport Changes Life programme run by former Star of the Sea player and Irish international Gareth Maguire in Belfast.
This programme has supplied some 14 players to both the Women’s Division 1 and Premier Leagues this season.
The Wildcats players Jazmen Boone and Katie Fox have proved to be extra special not just on the basketball court for their college and club, but also in many other ways. They are involved doing community work through WIT and also help out with coaching the Wildcat’s underage teams. They are also visiting a number of local schools providing short basketball clinics.
But this Saturday it is their basketball skills that will matter as they could have their hands full in coping with Meteor’s American duo Megan McGuinness and Emily Leer. The American players with Meteors are also here on the Sport changes Life programme and so far this season have demonstrated their value for the Dublin outfit.
They are among the top scorers in the league, which means that both Jazmen and Katie will have to be at the top of their game for this Premier league clash. Any young players with ambition should not miss this game as with such talent on show it is expected to be a top quality game. Tip off at the Mercy Sports Hall is 7 pm.
