The girls’ u15 4×200m relay team were led off by Katie Murphy who set up Molly O’Shea in a strong position.

The fast running Amy Redmond took over the baton and passed to Lorna Monaghan who put all those hard winter training sessions to good use to run a storming last leg and secure silver behind the winning KCH team.

In the girls’ u16 1500m walk Isabel Morgan showed her considerable talent at this event, taking a bronze medal on the back on a limited training schedule.

Now with a full eight weeks to the All Ireland’s look out for great things from Isabel in the coming season. In the girls’ u15 1000m walk Molly O’Shea showed enormous potential having a superb walk to place fifth overall.

In the u15 800m, Katie Murphy having her first outing at this distance finished a very credible fifth in the fastest heat of the day showing lots of middle-distance potential. In the u14 age group, Aine Phelan was just two seconds outside qualifying in the 800m when finishing fourth, while the girl’s u14 4×200m relay squad of Emily Kleijn, Alice Monaghan, Tara Ramamaswamy, Shauna Finn were also fourth.
