Holy Cross 4-10;   Portlaw 0-1

Holy Cross, Tramore took the bull by the horns in the opening minutes of this Roinn B final. They made their mark straight away as they popped over some lovely scores from play. They had fire in their bellies and with the great support coming from the sidelines, it wasn’t long before Holy Cross rattled the net.

It must be said that the Holy Cross backline stood up to everything that was thrown at them as Portlaw were finding it increasingly difficult to get past. The strong wind that greets you so frequently in the DLS grounds was all in Holy Cross’s favour, but in the second half when the tables were turned the breeze did not deter the winners one bit.

They continued their scoring spree as the ball continuously had to be fished out of the Portlaw net. Portlaw scored their only point of the match midway through the second half and although they came into the match a bit more Holy Cross proved much too strong for them on the day. The game ended with a decisive victory for Holy Cross on a scoreline of 4-10 to Portlaw’s 0-1.
