Eastern Primary Schools Boys’ U10 Football C:Kilmac’ goals kill off Clonea

Kilmacthomas 6-8; Clonea 1-2
Another one-sided match seemed to be on the cards in the Roinn C final. Both teams started well in the opening minutes but it was Kilmac’ that shot in a resounding 2-3 within five minutes.
Clonea, though, were still contesting every ball and they soon got their names on the scoreboard. However the pressure that their backline was under was enormous as Kilmac’ continued to run at them.
Midway through the half things began to level out and the superb opening scores for Kilmac’ were standing the test of time as Clonea were finding it very difficult to raise flags at the other end. Still, after some hard fighting on both sides, the half-time whistle blew on a scoreline of Kilmac 2-6, Clonea 1-2, so it certainly wasn’t all over.
Clonea had it all to do in the second half and once again the wind began to take its toll. Kilmac’ took advantage of the conditions and not leaving anything to chance they continued like they began the match. They were keeping possession of the ball across midfield and in the forward line and this made all the difference.
Kilmac’ began to stride away from Clonea and a comeback became more and more out of reach. The final score saw Kilmac’ emerge victorious by 6-8 to Clonea’s 1-2.
