Blackwater Community School win Munster Camogie title

Patricia Bolger, Chairperson Co.Waterford Camogie Board presents the Munster Colleges Senior A Cup to Blackwater Community School's Joint Captain's Marie Russell and Shauna Kiernan.
Blackwater Community School Lismore Senior Camogie team captured the Senior ‘A’ Munster trophy on Saturday last following victory over Scoil Chaimin Naofa in Lismore.
The girls created history for Waterford camogie as they became the first Waterford camogie team to win this trophy and also the first to win Senior ‘D’, ‘C’, ‘B’ and ‘A’ Munster competitions in four successive years.
Indeed, their success has made it a great start to the Waterford camogie year and let’s hope it’s a precursor to more silverware for the Deise during 2010.
Newly elected County Chairperson Tricia McCarthy had the honour of presenting the Munster Cup to team captains Shauna Kiernan and Marie Russell as her first official function as County Chairperson.
