Dungarvan CBS fought off a brave challenge from their near neighbour Saint Augustine’s to advance in this hard fought Munster quarter-final played in Fraher Field last Wednesday.

After 20 minutes, the CBS led by 1-1 to 0-3, with the Friary fighting back after James Salmon’s spectacular goal.

Three Cathal Curran points from frees between the 20th and 30th minutes gave the CBS a 1-4 to 0-3 lead at half-time.

Early in the second half the CBS stretched their lead with points from brothers Cathal and Patrick Curran.

The Friary fought very hard but found it difficult to make an impression against an outstanding CBS defence.

Three CBS points from midfielder Colin Dunford, were matched by a point from play from Seamus Keating and two pointed frees from Colm Kindregan.
