Salute to retiring ard-stiurthoir

They came from every county in the land, along with representatives of each overseas unit of the G.A.A. to the City West Hotel Dublin on Friday night last, to join in the festivities associated with the retirement of Liam O Maolmhichil former Ard-Stiurthoiur Cumann Luth Chleas Gael. The genial Longford native was the recipient of lavish and well deserved commendations on the excellent of his stewardship during a most momentous period of the history of the Association, and in particular for the significant role he played in the re-development of Croke Park into one – if not the best Sports Stadiums of Europe. Glowing tributes came from all quarters led by President Nicky Brennan, and Waterford were represented at the function by it’s Chairman Pat Flynn, Secretary John O’Leary, P.R.O. Joe Cleary, Former County Secretary Seamus Grant, Western Board Chairman Paddy Walsh and Central Council delegate Seamus O’Brien.
