Under 12 League
De La Salle 1 Mooncoin 2
A poor performance by our lads on the day. We never got in to this game as our attitude was wrong from the start. Despite this we were still in the game until a controversial penalty decision went against us near the end, however on this performance we did not really deserve much. Our goal scorer was Darren O’Loughlin who netted in the first half. We can do an awful lot better in this league if we get our attitude right.

Seaview Celtic 0 De La Salle 2
On Saturday last we played away to Seaview Celtic and managed to win all 3 points in a close fought match. However while the coaches were happy with what transpired on the field, events prior to the match left the coaches wondering why they make an effort at all. In the hours prior to the match an unusual amount of players phoned in sick and the squad was left with the minimum amount of players to play the game. It transpires many of our players spent the previous evening and all night playing in a charity football match without informing their coaches. Not only did they leave their coaches down but also their team-mates.
However back to the actual game, the re-arranged team which took to the pitch in Annestown battled hard in an evenly fought first half. We went in level at half time having gone close twice with Ian Coady and debutant Devon Morrissey denied by good goalkeeping by the Seaview netminder.
In the second half we scored after ten minutes with a well worked move resulting in a goal by Connor “Speedy” Whittle. We defended very well for the remainder of the half and with eight minutes to go a three man move saw our top scorer Jamies Walsh hit the back of the net. Best on the day for DLS was the entire back four, keeper Tom Farrell and strikers Devon and Ian Coady.

De La Salle 2 Johnville 3
We started well in this game and took an early lead . However after that we failed to produce the goods and finally went down by the odd goal. This team has a lot of talent in it’s ranks but at the moment are not producing the performances that they are capable of, keep beliveing lads the tide will turn.

Carrick United 1 De La Salle 1
A fantastic first half performance that saw us dominate the home side in all sections of the field. We opened the scoring with a wonder goal from David Griffin when he skillfully lobbed the unfortunate home keeper from all of thirty yards after great approach work from our hard working team. We had further chances to add to our lead in the opening period but luck was not on our side. The second half saw a resurgent Carrick come at us in search of an equaliser and we then defended our goal superbly while hitting the home side on the counter attack. We were once again unlucky not to have scored with good efforts from Patricen Mungenga and Peter O’Hagan, while Patricen Mungenga had what seemed a good goal disallowed. The home side did indeed get an equaliser which saw us come away with a well deserved point from what is most likely going to be our toughest league fixture of the season. Well done to coaches and players.
Best for De La Salle Darren O’Loughlin David McGrath and Paddy McGrath
Division 1 League
Kilmacthomas 2 De La Salle 1
We pressed the self-destruct button late in the second half of this game in foggy Kilmac on sunday to lose our unbeaten record in the league. At 1-1 we looked like the team which would go on to win the game, but a lengthy delay after an injury to Philip Blake from a horrible late tackle, caused us to lose our momentum and it was the home side who profited. Derek Daly scored our goal in the first half from an Eoin Kenny corner. Munster cup next week and we need to move on from this and get back to winning ways.
