The Red Bull Local Hero Skate rolls into the People’s Park in Waterford on June 18 and locals are invited to skate with the Red Bull skate team, who will then select the best skater from each venue and crown him or her the Local Hero.

This unique chance for young skaters to get spotted will culminate in the Local Heroes from each venue attending the Red Bull Vert Ramp Camp in Oxegen, where they will get coaching from some of the world’s top skaters including Mack McKelton, Boaz Aquino and Philipp Schuster. Their prize also includes weekend festival passes to Oxegen.

In addition to the board action, the event will feature a live performance from a breaking Irish band that will also feature at Oxegen Festival in July.

The tour kicks-off at the People’s Park in Waterford at 4pm on Wednesday, June 18, before it moves on to Ennis, Letterkenny, Belfast and Dublin. The free event is open to everyone to come along and skate with the pros or simply enjoy the performances and live gigs.
