A try from scrumhalf Liam McCarthy and three penalties from Aaron Foskin were our scorers as we went down by seven points to a Mallow side who remain firmly in the hunt for promotion.

We started the game well but some grave errors by the home team gave Mallow a lead they were never to relinquish.

Gleeson Cup defeat to Clonmel

Our Second XV, which featured seven Under-19 players in the starting team, was outplayed by a well-drilled and experienced Clonmel side in the Gleeson Cup in Kilbarry.

The Second Team is comprised mainly of first season players, Under-19 and veteran players – combined, there is the makings of a superb team for next year assuming they stay together, stay focused, learn from this season and each and every game that they play.
