Despite being short seven players from their previous encounter on Wednesday night, Waterpark completed the double over Dungarvan on Saturday night last by 29-0 at the Ballinroad venue to claim the Ballyrandle Cup.

As in the Casey Cup, Park had the home side under pressure for the majority of the first half but in this instance it took them until the twenty fifth minute to put points on the board when out half Killian Grant glided through the Dungarvan defence to go over under the posts for the first try which he converted himself to put his side ahead at 0-7. Five minutes later Pat Fahy had added a second after a patient build up saw him emerge from a rolling maul to cross just at the corner flag. Grant made it 0-14 with a great strike from the touchline. Just before half time winger Kevin Phelan popped up in the centre to finish off a lovely back movement for the third try which Grant also converted to leave twenty one points between the sides at the change over.

This game was killed off as a contest within two minutes of the restart after Park turned over a Dungarvan lineout, David Fitzgerald was on hand to barge his way over for Park’s fourth try and ahead at 0-26. The last score of the game came midway through the half when Grant was again successful with a penalty from forty metres to leave the final score 0-29 and Park winners of the Ballyrandle Cup.
