Waterpark 14; Garryowen 14 (’Park win on try countback)

Waterpark line-out action from the Under-17 Munster League final.
Again these guys produced the goods. Despite the fact that they handed Garryowen five points after only two minutes when a howler of a mistake inside their 22 allowed the Limerick winger Patrick Healy over in the corner, not only did they gather themselves together, but proceeded to dominate this very good Garryowen side in every facet of play for the remainder of the half.
After getting over the concession of the try Park started to put some lovely moves together and pressurise the Blues defence, which was at breaking point on several occasions.
And on 11 minutes they got their noses back in front when a brilliant jinking run took outhalf Tom Kiersey into the opposition 22 to set up a ruck from which scrum-half Conor Hearne picked from the base to race through a gap and over for the first try. Kiersey added the simple conversion to leave Park ahead by 7-5.
However, Garryowen went back in front at 7-8 on fifteen minutes when their out half Mark McGrath was successful from forty metres after Park had been penalised for an early tackle and just on half time he repeated the dose to put four points between the sides at 7-11.
The irony of this scenario is that Park had Garryowen under serious pressure for the greater part and were unlucky not to register at least two tries, whereas the Limerick side picked up their 11 points the only times they set foot in the Park half.
