Waterpark 2nds 38; Dungarvan 0

Seamus Casey (Sponsor) presenting the Cup to both Joe Widger and Conor McCarthy (Joint Captains).
A power-packed display from the forwards coupled with some sublime movements from the backs resulted in Park clocking up 38 points without reply against Dungarvan in this Casey Cup final played in Waterford City’s ground at Kilbarry on Wednesday night last to take the silverware back to Ballinakill.
Playing with the advantage of the breeze in the first half, Park made their intentions very clear as within the first two minutes they scorned two kickable penalties at goal by opting to go down the line to no avail. However five minutes later with Park camped inside the opposition twenty two an attempted chip ahead by the Dungarvan out half, Mossie Keith, was gathered gazelle like by Parks lock forward Collie Walsh who sprinted clear under the posts to open his sides account and with out half Billy Phelan adding the extras Park were ahead 7-0. This margin was increased to 14-0 within five minutes after some good driving by the pack the ball was flashed across the backs for winger Gus Walsh to cross for the second try with Phelan again adding the conversion.
On twenty three minutes Park secured good possession from a lineout on half way and a series of forward drives took them inside the Dungarvan twenty two where the ball was released to centre John Laffin to power his way over from fifteen metres under the posts to leave a simple kick for Phelan and Park in the driving seat at 21-0. Five minutes before the break a lovely snipe from the base of a ruck thirty metres out by scrum half Mark Daly had the alarm bells ringing for Dungarvan again, as a lovely skip pass to Enda Nolan took out three defenders for the centre to go over unopposed in the corner for Parks fourth try and a wonderful strike by Phelan from the touchline left the score at 28-0 going into the break.
