Blues take on local XI in aid of Irish Kidney Association
Waterford United will take on a Waterford Soccer Monthly selection in a charity friendly which kicks off at 7.45pm on Friday, February 13, at Ben Wadding Park, Poleberry, the home of Waterford Bohs.
The game sees the Blues take on a hand-picked side featuring the cream of the crop of local talent, with every Junior League Premier club expected to be represented – many of whom will have lined out for United in the past – and also some special guests. A superb squad has been assembled for the game, and they fancy their chances of turning over their more illustrious counterparts.
The Blues, for their part, will be treating the game very seriously, as part of their pre-season preparations, so a cracking, competitive match is in store. It will also be a great chance for fans to come out and see all of Stephen Henderson’s new signings in action.
Tickets are on sale now all over the city and county, priced at just €5, and all proceeds will go to the Waterford branch of the Irish Kidney Association. Please come out and lend your support to this event, and if you can’t attend, please consider purchasing a ticket anyway to support this hugely worthwhile cause.
Cork game
The week before, Waterford United will host Cork City in a pre-season friendly at the RSC in Waterford on Saturday, February 7, with a 3pm kick-off.
