Champions beat Dungarvan

Dungarvan United 1; Carrick United 2

Newly-promoted Dungarvan United lost their third game on the spin in Kilrush Park on Wenesday night when an understrength Carrick United won by the odd goal in three.

Dungarvan did take the lead through Gavin Crotty after only 6 minutes but shortly before the half-time break Alan Coady scored his second goal of the new campaign to level matters.

When Kevin Walsh was set off early in the second period the hosts were left with a mountain to climb and it came as no surprise when Bobby Landers put the champions in front with 18 minutes remaining and from then on there was only going to be one result.
