Pender wins Premier League ‘Golden Boot’

Morgan Pender finished up as the leading goalscorer in the Waterford Premier League during the 2007-08 season with a total of 14 goals. The Bohemians player was one of the main reasons why the Ben Wadding Park club led the race for the title for quiet a long time during the course of an arduous campaign.

Although Ferrybank dropped out of the Premier League, their striker Kevin “Goosie” Roche still managed to find the net on 11 occasions. The remainder of the players at the club could only score 9 goals between them.

Billy Barron of St Saviour’s was on target 9 times and his colleague Steven Dalton scored 8 in total. Joe Watson, who helped Waterford Crystal win the Premier League, was their leading marksman with 7 goals, the same total as Gary Kelly of Johnville.
