Two teams locked together on eleven points played each other in Connors Park on Saturday night. Earlier in the season Ferrybank had recorded one of their three victories to date when they won 2-0 at The Village Grounds, but on this occasion they had to bend the knee to the side managed by the Waterford United legend Pascal Keane.

The Villa opened the scoring after only 51 seconds, and the outfit managed by the former Waterford United goalkeeper Wayne Russell never really recovered from that early setback. The 90 minutes produced plenty in the way of endeavour, but little in the way of class.
