Walsh and Kervick excel at Celtic Battle

Luke Walsh and Liam Kervick who both won title belts last weekend at the Celtic Battle which took place at the Crystal leisure Centre, Waterford.

both won title belts last weekend at
the Celtic Battle at the Crystal Leisure
Centre Waterford.
Fighters from Ireland Scotland
and Wales competed in what was
a competitive and enjoyable day’s
kickboxing.
Liam Kervick took on a very strong
champion and Irish title holder Josh
Carley from Wexford.
From the first bell it was evident
that Liam Kervick was not letting the
champion Carly take the title back to
Wexford,
Liam attacked the champion
with amazing kicking skills that the
Wexford fighter could not match and
when the young Waterford fighter’s
hand was raised the crowd went
wild as Waterford had another Irish
champion.
Luke Walsh, who was headlining
the final bill took on Ross Mc Kish
from Scotland for the 57kg celtic title.
Through five gruelling rounds
both talented fighters fought it out
with the powerful Waterford fighter
landing some good shots in the early
rounds on his strong Scottish opponent.
Walsh had the Waterford crowd
behind him as they both battled it out
with the final decision going to the
stronger Waterford fighter who is the
new celtic champion
