“We’ve got a real belief in the dressing room” Courtney Duffus

Courtney Duffus was the goalscoring hero at the RSC last Friday with a super double. He also scored the late winning goal against Sligo Rovers at the Showgrounds two weeks previously. He was a happy man when he spoke after Friday’s as he proudly held his ‘Man of the Match’ award.
“It’s always nice to score two goals in any game but it’s even more special when it’s in front of your home fans at the RSC. I’m delighted with the goals but it’s all about the result. It’s a fantastic result for everyone involved in the club.

“It’s all about the three points as far as we’re concerned so in that regard it’s a great night. I had a chance a few minutes before the first goal when I just missed the target so it was great to take the second chance that came my way. It was about getting the shot off as quick as I could and thankfully it went in.
“There’s not much that I can say about the second goal because that’s the way the game was going. They had ten men and I thought we pressed them really well before we took the chance. I think that we looked dangerous every time we went forward in the first half so thankfully we were able to get two goals.
“The pitch was slippery tonight with the rain so I think that any shot on target was going to cause a problem. There is a great buzz in the dressing room but we’re not getting carried away with the results that we’ve managed to get.

“We’ve got a real belief in the dressing room amongst ourselves and that’s important. I think that once we continue to work hard and give one hundred per cent each game then who knows what can happen for us. Everyone enjoys coming in every morning to training which is always a good thing.
“Games can’t come quick enough for us when we’re winning and playing well. Every win is a huge win for us and every game is a huge game but we won’t be getting carried away and we’ll look forward to the game against Limerick next Friday.”
