An understrength Villa team which included four youth team players were much too strong for a poor Johnville side on Saturday.
illa went in front after 5 minutes when Conor McDonald strolled past three defenders and then struck a left footed shot past goalkeeper Dean Purcell. McDonald set up Villa’s second goal on 26 minutes by picking out Danny Walsh who applied the finish.
Johnville’s Anthony Phelan was sent off on 62 minutes and then to make matters worse Danny Sheridan made it 3-0 after 79 minutes following a pass from Jimmy Barry. Ross Walsh scored a last minute goal for a Johnville team who must now face a Carrick United team in their last league game this Sunday.
A draw will keep them in the top division, but if they lose they will have to play Ferrybank in a play-off game to see who drops and who stays up.
