Tourin 1-9 Cappoquin 0-11

A goal eight minutes into the second half proved decisive for Tourin as they beat neighbours Cappoquin by the smallest possible margin at Fraher Field in Sunday last’s Comeragh Oil Western Intermediate Hurling Final.
While the ‘Cornerstone Men’ led for the bulk of the game, after Daithi Wilkinson’s sideline cut went all the way to the net to give his side the lead, Tourin never looked back.
The victors started the game without the services of Darragh Fives who impressed immensely for Waterford this year playing at the corner back position but when he came on for the last quarter of the game he made a telling contribution playing at wing forward and helped himself to a point at the end of the hour.
His brother Shane was also impressive at centre forward where he notched up four of his sides five first half points and added one more in the second 30 minutes. The victors also had a very solid performance from Darragh Wilkinson playing between the posts.
