Mount Sion 2-9 De La Salle 1-8
Mount Sion progressed to the Eastern Under-21 football final thanks to a four-point victory over arch-rivals De La Salle at a wet and windy Páirc Pádraig Ó Fainín last Saturday.
Both sets of players struggled badly with the conditions, especially the wind and this is a game that will not live long in the memory for its quality.
The Under-21 football championship does not feature high on the list of priorities for either of these teams and as a result there was not the cut and thrust that you would expect from a championship battle between these two old rivals.
In truth, the subdued atmosphere was set from the very beginning when the referee arrived without linesmen or umpires.
