Two days after Shamrock Rovers’ fine display against Spurs in the Europa League, the young players from Tallaght were brought down to earth by a sparkling Waterford United team who have now reeled off four consecutive victories on their way to the top of the league table.
The game was played on one of the top pitches at the RSC and despite the torrential rain which fell through the 90 minutes both teams produced a wonderful contest.
Sean Maguire is a player who is gaining a big reputation in the game at the present time and the young Waterford United striker displayed his class in this game by scoring a superb brace and his tally is now eight goals from the six games played to date. Tommy Griffin, Sean Browne and Declan Howlett certainly have a talented squad to work with and surely the future must be bright for the club with so much talent at the club right now.
