ALL involved with securing impressive results in the latest Irish Business Against Litter (IBAL) survey have been praised by the Mayor of Waterford City & County Council.
At the September plenary meeting of Waterford City & County Council, Mayor John Cummins commented on the results of the survey which was carried out by An Taisce on behalf of IBAL.
Dungarvan placed second in the survey while Waterford City ranked in fourth position.
Mayor Cummins congratulated Waterford City & County Council and the various community groups which contributed to the impressive results.
He said a huge amount of work had gone into obtaining such results, and praised the council’s staff and all those working towards the betterment of their area.
In total, 40 towns and cities were surveyed across the country, with both Dungarvan and Waterford City classified as ‘Cleaner than European Norms’.
