PicAFORMER Talk Talk workers gathered at The Tower Hotel this week to hear of the training and educational opportunities available to them.
The information event held yesterday (Tuesday) for those eligible to benefit under the European Globalisation Fund (EGF) was opened by Minister for Training and Skills Ciarán Cannon (pictured).
Many former Talk Talk workers have already gone on to pursue training and re-skilling opportunities.
However, around 200 of the almost 600 people made redundant in September 2011 have yet to formally engage with the services on offer.
“We’re saying to them, come and talk to us,” said Minister Cannon. “We still want to work with them and support them.”
EGF funding from the European Commission of €2.7 million was approved in December and was matched by the government, meaning more than €5 million was made available to the redundant workers for training and upskilling.
