Dinner is served from 5pm onwards, with an early bird menu available from 5pm-7pm.
“Seafood is very big seller at the moment, particularly at night. We have a great selection of fresh fish dishes,” explained Catherine.
“Our monkfish in a bacon and cream sauce is very popular at the moment.”
An extensive Sunday lunch menu includes a superb selection such as medallions of beef, turbot, salmon, roast duck etc.
At the Vee Bistro, a special emphasis is placed on souring locally produced food and the venue’s reputation for quality and value has attracted customers from throughout Tramore and beyond.
“People come from far and wide,” said Catherine.
“We have a great relationship with our customers and we have many regulars. We often have groups of people coming out from Waterford and all around the area for special occasions.”
The team at The Vee Bistro also offer a catering service and can cater for a wide variety of occasions including corporate events, christenings, First Holy Communions, Confirmations etc.
A novel idea which has received great feedback is Catherine’s picnic bag which she launched last summer, proving to be a huge success with day trippers and children attending summer camps for example.
The€4 bag contains a blaa, crisps, a banana, a bar of chocolate and a bottle of water.
The Vee Bistro also hosts different theme nights, and recently hosted a Spanish salsa evening which was a huge success.
The venue is at the heart of the Tramore community and Derek and Catherine regularly support local events.
Additionally, Derek is involved with the Tramore Tourism Committee.
“It’s great to be involved locally and to try and get the town to where we all want it to be,” said Catherine.
Both Derek and Catherine are looking forward to the future plans for Tramore and, along with the exciting times which are ahead for the town, there are exciting times ahead for The Vee Bistro as plans are in place to expand upstairs with a private function room.
Derek and Catherine praised all of their staff members, some of whom have been with them since they first opened ten years ago.
They have also thanked all of their loyal customers and suppliers.
