“We have something truly distinctive at our disposal in Ormond Castle,” according to Carrick’s Mayor Patsy Fitzgerald.

The literal creation of a new avenue for tourism in Carrick-on-Suir, guiding visitors to Ormond Castle from the main Waterford road must be realised.
That’s the contention of Carrick’s new Mayor Patsy Fitzgerald, who first suggested the construction of a new road to the castle over 20 years ago.
“This is something which simply must happen, no doubt about it,” said Mayor Fitzgerald, who first floated the idea in the early 1990s through the Carrick-on-Suir Development Association (COSDA).
