Nothing is sacred to Waterford’s finest herd, The Bilberry Goats, who feature in this year’s Variety Performance.

Continuing in the family tradition of making people smile, chuckle and, more often than not, laugh out loud, Michael Grant co-produces the Theatre Royal’s Variety Performance, which runs all this week.
A stalwart of the local theatre scene, Michael has been producing shows since the mid-80s and his latest offering, he promises, will be bigger and funnier than ever.
The Tops of the Town began in Waterford in 1962, developing into a nationwide showcase of amateur variety entertainment in 1964 as John Player Tops. To it, Michael attributes his own theatrical roots.
Michael’s own lineage is firmly steeped in variety theatre: his grandfather Jack was one of the famed Thomas Davis Players and both he and his son Paddy (Michael’s uncle) worked on countless Tops productions from the 60s onwards.
