An eggstra-ordinary feature in Dungarvan’s Grattan Square proved a real attraction over the weekend, with many in the town posing with a giant Easter egg which was placed on Friday to mark the occasion.
The decorative egg which is full of flowers and vibrant colour, was placed in Grattan Square by Dungarvan and West Waterford Chamber of Commerce supported by Waterford City & County Council as part of ‘Dressing Dungarvan’. The feature was created by Every Event.
Chamber CEO Jenny Beresford outlined the idea behind the feature.
“I believe that positive promotion is especially important when morale may be low due to the long restrictive periods. This is a sensory, creative, attractive and safe experience which will provide some festive cheer for many.’

Chamber President, David Walsh echoed these sentiments.
“Knowing how much pleasure people get from our public realm and how we all enjoy our outdoor features, the Dungarvan and West Waterford Chamber, supported by Waterford Council wanted to add something colourful for Easter. We have a beautiful town centre where we can all enjoy fun and seasonal decorations, so we hope that this giant Easter Egg will give people a lift and something new to enjoy outdoors.”
The giant egg will be in situ until Monday 12th April.
