Stephen Hunt was up bright and early last Sunday morning before making his way to RTE to make the draw for the 7th Round of the FAI Junior Cup on the ‘Sportsbag’ programme.

He stated that he hoped to get his former club, Carrick United, a home tie but alas instead he gave them an away draw in Athlone against St Peters. He drew the home teams while another Waterford man, Paul Cooke, the Managing Director of The Daily Star drew the away teams.

The holders of the cup have a wonderful record playing away from Tom Drohan Park so they will not be to worried about the outcome of this last 16 contest.

In the last round, Bohemians had to travel to Athlone to play Willow Park and just like Carrick did against Athenry they advanced on penalties after extra-time. On this occasion, Bohs will play at home against Regional United from Limerick, who defeated Douglas Hall 4-1 on Sunday last.

United are a breakaway club from Mungret Regional, the team Bohemians defeated in the 1996 final. They are the current leaders of the Limerick Premier League, but Janesboro have two games in hand. The full draw is as follows:

Janesboro (Limerick) V Clonmel Town

St Peter’s (Athlone) V Carrick United

Bohemians V Regional United (Limerick) or Douglas Hall (Cork)

Ballymun United (Dublin) V Crumlin United (Dublin)

Evergreen FC (Kilkenny) V Fairview Rangers (Limerick)

Sheriff Youth Club (Dublin) V St Vincent’s Hospital (Dublin) or Coolock Town (Dublin)

Listetown Celtic (Kerry) V Glengard United (Innesowen) or City United (Sligo)

Kinsale United (Cork) V Erris United (Mayo)

*Games to be played on weekend of March 1st.
