Waterford United have been drawn at home against Munster Senior League oufit, Carraigaline United in the third round of the Ford FAI Cup.

In the first round, the Co Cork outfit drew away to Tullamore Town following a scoreless draw. They won the replay one nil. On Saturday last they defeated Cobh Ramblers 2-1 away in St Coleman’s Park.

The Carrigaline club were members of the Munster Senior League Premier Division two seasons ago but following relegation during the last two seasons they are now playing in the second division of that league, which is the third tier grade of the Munster League.

The Blues will be red hot favouites to advance to Round 4.

Carrigaline United’s players’average age is 19 and it would have to be regarded as a major shock if Stephen Henderson’s team do not advance. The game will be played on the weekend ending Sunday, June 14th.
