Davy Fitzgerald is planning on excusing Tony Browne, Dan Shanahan, Ken McGrath, Eoin Murphy, Seamus Prendergast and John Mullane from training until mid-March, meaning they’ll most likely miss the opening four League games.
“They are all on individual programmes at the moment under the guidance of Ger Hartmann,” says the manager. “We need to manage them as well as we can, get the best out of them at the right time of the season” – an admission possibly that last year’s pre-season slog didn’t suit everyone in the long haul.
