A motion for Waterford City to develop a smartphone application was enthusiastically welcomed at Monday’s City Council meeting.

The motion, put forward by Fianna Fáil Councillor Gary Wyse and Independent Councillor Mary Roche, favours expanding the current app in production for the Viking Triangle area of the city.

Cllr Gary Wyse highlighted the “enormous benefit that apps for smartphones can have for an area”. He added: “I’m aware that an app was recently launched for Dunmore East and it’s fitting for this city to have one.
