Waterford is the fifth most congested location in the country, according to a new traffic survey.
The findings of the survey, conducted by satellite navigation manufacturer TomTom, will come as little surprise to commuters who chug through the streets of the city each day.
However, the regional capital of the South-East fares much better than the West’s capital.
Surprisingly, the most congested place in Ireland was found to be Galway.
Dublin came in second, with Limerick third and Cork fourth.
The rankings were based on how fast a car could travel on the road network of each city and town.
The reason for Galway’s higher ranking over Dublin has been attributed to the city having fewer roads than the capital, explained Mark Gretton of TomTom.
