Despite problems which left many individual householders without water for a considerable period during the Christmas break, Waterford city’s supply ‘didn’t fare as badly as other locations’.

That was the sentiment expressed by Waterford City Council’s Environmental Director Colette Byrne when addressing Councillors at Monday’s evening’s monthly meeting.

While acknowledging the problems experienced by residents in different Council-managed and private housing estates, Ms Byrne said the investment made by the local authority in recent years has clearly proven beneficial.
