Waterford’s status as one of Ireland’s coastal gems was restored this week, when the Environmental Protection Agency ranked all of the county’s major beaches as having ‘good water quality’.
Given Failte Ireland’s estimation that more than 80pc of Irish families are planning to take a holiday at home this year, the news could provide a much-needed boost to the local tourism industry.
