St Saviours 0-8; Rathgormack 1-5
The weather was bad, the pitch was poor, there were no press facilities but nonetheless I really enjoyed this SFC relegation play-off between St Saviours and Rathgormack in Kilmacthomas last Saturday evening.
Despite the slippery conditions both sides went for this as if their lives depended on it and even though the hits were big, the game was played in a magnificent spirit.
After several narrow defeats in the group stages of the Championship, both sides could feel themselves hard done by to be in the relegation play-off. But you must play the hand that is dealt you and both sides looked very determined to be playing senior in 2012.
