Waterford League 2; Kilkenny League 0
A brace of goals from the in-form Tramore striker Paul Quilty proved good enough to give the Waterford League an impressive victory over the Kilkenny League at Ozier Park on Sunday.
Kilkenny lost their opening game to Wexford in this group so this defeat means they have bowed out of this seasons’ competition.
Waterford will now travel to play Wexford in late November to see which league will advance to the knock out stage.
The entire Waterford back four was comprised of players from Carrick United, and the goalkeeper Adrian Walsh is also the custodian with Carrick.
Team manager Ger O’Mahoney deployed Stephen Grant from Tramore F.C in a strikers role alongside Paul Quilty and his decision proved to be an inspired one because Grant, who normally plays in the middle of the park created both goals for Quilty.
