The Theatre Royal is trying to attract a new audience and on paper Life Shop till You Drop! Advertised as a “Girls Night Out” seemed to offer a fun time. The word – hilarious – was mentioned and it wasn’t. The audience for its duration of under an hour scarcely tittered and there were periods of what might be described as piteous silence.

The theatre had all kinds of stalls in the new foyer, offering fitness, hair treatments from Zen, makeovers etc and there was a light-hearted expectation.

Wonderland Productions’ one-woman show was a disappointment with a weak look at the rules of dating mixed with a tilt at self-help books, Feng Shui and the book and movie – He’s Just Not That Into You. For me, I was just not into this production and from the audience reaction they weren’t either.
