On Saturday last in Santry Stadium at the All-Ireland Schools Combined Events Championships, Megan Kiely (pictured) from Ursuline Convent, Waterford won the Intermediate title with a total of 3011 points. Clare Murphy, Gaelcolaiste Ceatharlach was second on 2995 points, and Megan’s twin brother Ben from Tramore CBS finished fourth also in the Intermediate Grade with 3234 points. The event was won by Paul Byrne of Presentation Carlow with 3595 points. Both of the Kielys will represent Ireland in the Schools International later this year as the first four in each event were chosen.
