The Nire are through to the semi-finals of this year’s County Senior Football Championship, but only after an almighty challenge from An Rinn who grew in stature as the game wore on.
An Rinn’s burgeoning talent Donie Breathnach, who was an outstanding performer from first whistle ‘til last, opened the scoring after two minutes via a free.
Brian Wall replied for The Nire in the eighth minute and added another point two minutes later to put his side into a lead that they were not to relinquish. Wall added another on the quarter hour to put his side two ahead.
