A family pet sustained horrific injuries and had its leg amputated following a vicious attack by a stray pit bull terrier in John Robert’s Square last Sunday morning.
‘Pippin’, a miniature Yorkshire Terrier, was violently wrested from her owner by the pit bull, whilst the terrified woman attempted to shield her young daughter from danger.
The hysterical woman and child watched on in horror as their tiny pet was repeatedly mauled by the pit bull, who wore no collar and was apparently unaccompanied by an owner.
