Villa and De La Salle went into this game on Thursday night last on the back of contrasting results in their previous games. Villa had defeated Ballinroad 7-2 while De La Salle lost 7-2 to Tramore.
Top man in Villa’s demolition of Ballinroad was striker Luke Power following his five goal scoring spree, so it was clear to see that the visitors to Connors Park would have to keep him in check during the course of the 80 minutes of play.
Villa had won their previous two games while DLS were still waiting to get off the mark following three outings to date.It was the Villa who came out on top and needless to say Luke Power played his part once again as he chipped in with two goals in this game.
