A record entry of 372 competed in the 42nd Annual Paddy Flanagan Memorial Road Race from Waterford to Tramore on Saturday last and there was an all-the-way win by Tommy Evans, Gowran. He was timed at 38 minutes 36 seconds as he crossed the finishing line well clear of second man home Brian Murphy, Carrick-on-Suir who clocked 40.34. Frank Quinlan, Waterford AC was third in 41.14.
Jacqui Carthy, Kilmore, Co Wexford won the ladies section in 46.59.
