There was dancing to the spirited rhythms of new style traditional band Caladh Nua at Christ Church Cathedral. Dancing happily in the front aisle as this happy five piece entertained a discerning audience.

It was a wet dank night and parking was at a premium while Bolton Street seemed a winter away, the audience was sparse but within minutes of taking to the stage there was great music, life, great heart and a great opening of a hornpipe slipping into jigs as Lisa Butler sang the plaintive Cruel Lowland Maid. The band swung in behind her in great style. There was banter and a fine bluegrass cut to The Gold Rush.
