Motown met mainstream and rocked the bobbie sox off the young cast and scattered a few cobwebs off the parents and older audience for a splendidly animated and finely characterised Presentation Secondary School Transition Year production of Hairspray.
School shows have energy and a passion for music and dance that electrifies and this young company took on a mature theme of integration and did not shy away from the original lyrics and brought the audience to their feet in noisy and joyful appreciation.
