An emotional standing ovation after three hours of exceptional musical theatre, was richly deserved by the youthful cast of South Eastern Youth Theatre Group with their Schools Edition production of Les Miserables at the Theatre Royal. David Hennessy’s direction and musical staging was a shining light of clarity and dramatic intent. His cast caught and echoed the many facets of a complex dramatic and emotional show, full of big themes, life, death, poverty, cruelty, passion, forgiveness, hope, revolution, betrayal and despair and redemptive spirituality.
