Bryan Flynn directed Mack and Mabel for De la Salle Musical Society who were celebrating 80 years since the society was founded and 30 years since it’s revival and delivered a wistful look at the complicated life and legends of Mack Sennett and Mabel Normand. In a sense it became a lament for the end of the silent movie two-reeler era and the big number I Wanna Make The World Laugh took on an ironic tone, where even the filling in the custard pies was meagre.
