The mistake the Arts Council made, not once but twice, in cutting funding to Christ Church Cathedral concerts is still glaringly obvious to Waterford audiences who created the need for such a weekend venue, but to arts quangos, that case is still not obvious.

A full house for Wexford Sinfonia on the Saturday night, followed by a Sunday capacity crowd for a Youth Choir coffee concert and still no funding support from an Arts Council who in the January newsletter is promoting Arts Audiences, Google partnerships for a Build Your Audience Scheme. I’d laugh out loud, only it is too serious. Christ Church built an audience for Sunday concerts and got chopped for it.
