Mount Sion 1-11; Kilmacthomas 0-7
Mount Sion claimed the East Junior football title for the second year in a row when they saw off the challenge of Kilmacthomas in Fenor last Saturday.
In the end, the Monastery men had too much firepower for the mid-county men as Ian Galgey ran riot, showing that he is probably just as good a footballer as he is a hurler.
Kilmacthomas didn’t seem unduly bothered by the stiff breeze that was in their faces during the early stages.
The mid-county men set about their task with all the determination you would expect from a side that had been looking forward to this game for several weeks.
They raced into an early lead of 0-3 to 0-0 inside the 10 minutes with star forward, Eoin Walsh, MJ Power and John Cleary all firing over.
